Welcome!

A long ago friend once described me as a "collector of unconsidered trifles" - a label that I feel suits me perhaps better than many others that I have chosen or been given over the years - whether those trifles be sticks, stones, leaves, words or stories.   This website, and this blog contained with in its pages are very much inspired by those unconsidered trifles that I am delighted to share with you.

Welcome!

Welcome to those who are new to my work!

Welcome to those who have been following and supporting me for years and decades!

Welcome to both this blog and to this website!

Some history! Greenwomancrafts, as a pagan craft business, officially was started 26 years ago, in another life when I was working for a PhD and needed both an outlet for creativity, some extra cash, and a desire for the kind of handcrafted pagan tools that weren't easily available 3 decades or so ago. As a financially struggling student, my supplies were out of necessity things that I could find (sticks and stones), or source cheaply from second hand stores, cast offs from friends and families, and random lucky finds. What started out of necessity, has become part of the continuing ethos behind Greenwomancrafts - that of choosing to continue to upcycle, recycle, reclaim and repurpose materials whenever I can.

The name Greenwomancrafts emerged from a quick and rare doodle one night, based on one of the very few more obviously female foliate heads found carved in medieval churches and cathedrals (most are more male or androgynous).

The doodle eventually evolved under the hands of my amazing friend and tattoo artist Meredith Muse into both a tattoo, and what has become my logo ever since....

I started a very long time ago selling work to friends, at events and eventually a shop in Glastonbury, and then of course online - via my long-running eBay store, and eventually an Etsy store.  Greenwomancrafts spawned a sibling store (Mythospheria) over on Turtle Island, owned and run by a dear one and continues to grow and evolve. This website has been a long time in coming - a few false starts, and finally - here we are - thanks to the brilliance, grace and patience of Luke of Fleetfoot Productions.
